I am a vehement anti-Trumper but David Frum essentially demonizing small business owners, calling them dishonest, was absolutely appalling to me.

The tariffs thing doesn't make economic sense; the strongest argument for it I've seen (not that it's necessarily the one that Trump would make) is national security. The idea that we're all walking around with tech made in China or that our medicines are made in India is a serious problem. It might well be worth paying more for domestic goods, even if the quality for money doesn't add up, simply to protect us from what might happen if China decides to try something like the Israeli pager attack but at scale. America has a strong history of accepting economic harms for national interests in both the World Wars and the Cold War.

After the trumper, this was a breath of fresh air.

It's hard to maintain my sanity when someone is willing to say that Trump is a champion of the hard working common person. The inauguration should show everyone who Trump is and what sort of company he invites.

The administration is truly appalling. David Frum sees it. I see it. I know a lot of you guys see it. But fuck me, an alarming amount of people either don't see it, or openly encourage it for the cheap dopamine rush that it brings.

I think most people who voted for Trump (which I didn't) would agree that he's a terrible person who does a lot of terrible things.

But at least he's actually the president. We literally don't know who the president was for the past for years, nor who would have been president if Kamala Harris had won on the ballot.
