OMG Josh, your words are always impactful, your description of Judith Whelan as a person whom I had heard of but not known was so descriptive of what your relationship, professional and personal achieved. Your description of your father firstly as Australia’s ‘George Costanza’ decade’s before ‘ Seinfeld’ was perfect. He impacts many in TV and theatre across the world and again your love and admiration for him is exactly what a son should think but many don’t. There is a book in his world that you could write and I’d be the first to buy. Thoughts with you and your family.

Josh, wishing your dad an easy transition. Monte is the best place for him. Sounds like grieving for Judith is so overwhelming because it's also grief for Henri. Hoping James Valentine recovers enough soon to get back to afternoons, where he belongs

Thank you Josh for this beautiful podcast today. I was crying as I listened. My mother had a similar background to your father.. intellectual, funny and a survivor . It’s just on a year since she passed and I shared all the same feelings as you do .

Please write a book on your dad’s life .

My thoughts are with you 🙏

I listened to this earlier and actually came back to comment when I saw this on another Substack (Philosophors): “Between grief and nothing, I will take grief.” It’s a quote from William Faulkner. I took it as a sign.

Thanks for your very personal post Josh. My condolences on the loss of your two dear friends.

I particularly appreciated hearing about your dad’s childhood and back story. I’m so very sorry to hear about his illness. I’ve often wondered why you hadn’t had him on the podcast - I remember him being so erudite and funny, it seemed like a wonderful idea for an episode. That explains it.

I hope you find some meaning in this long goodbye.

I got choked up as well Josh. Another meaningful and thought-provoking episode. Never knew your Dad played Robby in Mother and Son. What a legend! The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Grew up watching that show. It was the best.

Thank you for this podcast Josh I look forward to listening to it with my wife. Her mother is at the equivalent stage of your father when he showed off his new belt.
